Symptoms Not Being Related To Breast Implants

Invalidation with breast Implant Illness seems to still be happening even with all the information out there today. There have been news stories on TV and many others in magazines etc. Yet some doctors are still invalidating women about their symptoms being related to their breast implants.

Could You Be Sick With Your Breast Implants?

Because many women may not know they are ill with their breast implants, they just continue living their lives being sick with these symptoms. Some women may be sick for 10 , 15 or 20 plus years before they figure out that their implants may be causing their ailments. Many doctors are blaming other issues for the symptoms. Those include age, hormones, psychological issues such as depression or anxiety.

Plastic Surgeons Still Minimizing the Risks of Breast Implants

Many women report that during their breast implant consults, some surgeons are telling them that some complications and illnesses are possible but it’s very rare. Because they are young and healthy it’s not going to happen to them. Those were the same exact words out of my plastic surgeons mouth in 2012, and I believed him.

I Felt I Was Screaming And No One Could Hear Me!

Fast forward to 2018, I, myself, became very ill with my saline breast implants. In fact, I was loosing my bodily functions and not one doctor would validate me in saying it could possibly be from my breast implants. I ended up in the ER 4 different times and it was always the same answer. We don’t know what is wrong with you and we cannot help you. I was told to go see my PC.

Invalidation from the Medical Community

I went to see my primary care physician and got the same answers. I went to doctor after doctor after doctor with all the same outcome. “We don’t know what is causing your symptoms, but all your tests are negative. It is definitely not your breast implants!

It was like my body was short circuiting and no one could stop it. I had to listen to my own intuition and get them them out. My body did start recovering right away but it took 2.5 years for all of the 50 symptoms to go away and about 9 months before I started to feel more human, if you will.

Invalidation from my Family and Social Circle

Your family and friends may not understand or believe what you are going through. Many people may invalidate you because some doctors are invalidating you. They trust your doctors, even though you may not. It can be very frustrating when you don’t get validation from the ones who you look to for love and support. In fact, it can be down right shocking.

Even when I was at my darkest hour, most of my family and friends did not validate or understand what I was going though. They only trusted the medical community and did not seem to care what I was telling them about how I was feeling and what I was going through.

MY STORY

Invalidation from Breast Implant Illness is still very common even with all the attention it has gotten lately. There needs to be more work around getting the word out about this issue. No woman is going to lie about having Breast Implant Illness. When you become ill with these implants, you may feel sicker than you ever have in your life. Pay attention to your intuition and how you are truly feeling inside. Just know that you are not alone and you know your own body better than anyone else.
